Susan Hartjes-Lips (born
1952 Haarlem, Netherlands) finished her professional education at R.K.
Pedagogische Akademie St. Paulus in Arnhem, Netherlands in 1973 with
specialisation "The didactics for drawing classes". Her graduation
paper in those days had already the title "Everybody is able to
draw", with which a good and systematic drawing method was developed
with proven results. After 3 years as a
teacher in Arnhem and Akersloot, Netherlands, she resided for an over 6 years
period in Guatemala, Bolivia and Ecuador. During this period she dedicated
herself and educated thirds in design of fashion and furniture. The following 3 years
back in the Netherlands mainly were consumed by the education of her
daughters. Spare time was intensely used for private classes and the design
and manufacturing of fashion. During the following 4 years,
residing in Miami, she studied at the Artschool of the Metropolitan Museum in
Miami. In particular the teaching principles as developed by Kimon Nicolaides
y Betty Edwards. As of 1989 back in
Bussum, Netherlands and initially active as a teacher in the public sector,
she decided in 1995 to dedicate herself entirely as a painter and giving
drawing- and painting classes on a private basis. Her individual work has
been sold in general to thirds and in the business sector. Next to that, she
was active in graphic designs en the development of WebPages on a commercial
basis, as well as designed and produced the entire wardrobe for some theatre
productions. Expositions in "le
Cadre" 1997, Bussum, in "Le Petit Fleur" 1998 Zevenaar, In
"Medisch Centrum" 1999 Bussum and in "Datasoft" 1999
Zeewolde, all in the Netherlands. Since the end of 2000
residing in Spain in the heart of Andalucia, Antequera (5 years, and as of
jaunuary 2006 in Archidona) also known as "City of Arts", she
dedicates herself full-time to private drawing and painting classes, as well
